TALISAY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL—Nature’s Village Resort is a hit among visitors because of its proximity to natural wonders and its eco-friendly practices.

The hotel advocates sustainable tourism by using renewable energy sources, proper waste solid management and recycling. In fact, it is the only hotel in Western Visayas that made it to the top 10 hotels nominated for the ASEAN Green Hotel Recognition Awards 2010 held in Brunei.

Nature’s Village Resort is located in Talisay City and offers a picturesque view of Mount Marapara.

The Nature’s Village Resort was designed by interior designer Nina Paras. Decorative jars are everywhere in the resort and most of the furniture are made from antique hardwood.

Aside from the view, the resort has comfortable rooms and many recreational facilities. There are single bedrooms and family rooms.

An added attraction is “Camp Edgar” where groups or families can hold events such as outings, day or overnight camps, leadership and strategic planning seminars, teambuilding, and sports festivals.

Visitors can enjoy the spacious surroundings and relax as you breathe in the fresh air with a scent of eucalyptus trees found in the resort.

There is a kiddie pool and parents can also look after their kids while seated on the gazebos facing the pool. Visitors can also take a glimpse of a unique house called Kaigelyn Mud House which is said to last up to 300 years.

The lowest rate for the room accommodation costs P1,800 per night while the “Governor’s Room” is the most expensive at P4,500 per night.
