DAPITAN CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE – Dapitan City is also celebrating the 150th birthday of Dr. Jose Rizal, notwithstanding the fact that the national hero spent his final days in exile in this small and peaceful city.
In fact, Dapitan City seems to be more Rizalian than the National Hero’s own hometown of Calamba, Laguna. Most if not all of the streets of Dapitan are named after people and places associated with him.
