CORDON, ISABELA— The Punta Amelita Garden Resort is a favorite among travelers looking for a close-to-nature resort in Cagayan Valley.

Conveniently located along the highway of Cordon town, the resort gives visitors a scenic view of the Caraballo and the Sierra Madre mountain ranges. Fresh water springs are a good addition to the surrounding mountains which are government-protected.

The Punta Amelita Garden Resort can easily accommodate adults and children.  Aside from the swimming pools, there is a jacuzzi and butterfly sanctuary. Additional amenities include a fishpond, a playground, a mini aviary and a mini zoo.

There is an entrance fee which is P50 for senior citizens and children while adults have to pay P70 pesos per head. Families can stay overnight in the cottages and rooms ranging from P1000 to P2500 per night.

If you happen to visit on Sunday and miss the mass, the resort also has chapel.

Punta Amelita Garden Resort is located near the provincial boundary of Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya. It takes about seven hours by car from Manila to reach this place. You have to pass Santiago City first which is only about 15 minutes away from the resort.

Look for the “Welcome to Isabela” marker at the Maharlika Highway in Cordon which is very near the resort.
