Antipolo ‘prayer mountain’ is an ideal place for a spiritual retreat

By Marjorie Gorospe

ANTIPOLO CITY, RIZAL— Who would have thought that a piece of “heaven” could be found in the mountains of Antipolo?

Touch of Glory Prayer Mountain is a serene place where one can reflect and get a constant reminder that there is Someone higher above all, just by taking a walk through in the place.

Nestled in Sitio Calumpang in Barangay San Jose, it is an ideal place for prayer. One can roam around and breathe in a good dose of fresh air.

The place is founded on the vision of putting prayer as the best way to communicate with God.

It is said to be the first ever Prayer Mountain not only in the Philippines but also in Southeast Asia, dedicated to intensify and deepen the prayer lives of the Filipino Christians after Bread of Life Ministries Pastor rev. Butch Conde visited South Korea and discovered that prayer was Korea’s secret to success in 1984.

There are rooms available including those for groups who wish to spend the night. If you opt to pray on your own, there are rows of prayer “cells” that offer privacy.

I remember visiting the place last year with co-workers. It gave us a collective feeling of relief from the stressful world working in media. Although we went there as a group, our original intention of praying was not put to waste as we all entered our own prayer cells.

The daing na bangus for breakfast is also worth mentioning, making up for a hearty meal after a night’s worth of communing with God.

If you plan to go visit Touch of Glory, you may visit the Bread of Life official website for details.
