DANAO, BOHOL – Aside from the breath-taking beaches in Panglao and the grandiose view of Chocolate Hills, Bohol is now also gaining popularity as one of the best places for extreme sports in the country.
Eco/Extreme Adventure Tour (EAT Danao) allows extreme sports enthusiasts to enjoy activities like wall and root climbing, caving, plunge, rappelling and suislide – the local version of zip line.
Danao’s suislide traverses around half a kilometer from one mountain to another giving a rider less than a minute of breath-taking flying experience. But if you’re afraid to fly by yourself, you can try the sky ride which resembles the cable cars in Singapore. Enjoy the view of the river while you’re suspended 1200 meters above the ground. The ride can carry six persons.
If you find wall climbing boring, then climbing the gigantic roots of Balete tree might just interest you more.
Climb as fast as you can and then rappel back down. The package only allows tourists a single climb so if you wish to do it again, you will have to pay extra.
The tour also includes exploring the historic Francisco Dagohoy’s cave. This used to be the base camp of Dagohoy, an esteemed Boholano who lead the longest revolutionary movement in the country . Make sure to bring extra clothes as you will experience total submerge in the cold waters of the cave. Taking photos with flash inside is prohibited as this destroys the growth of stalagmites and stalactites.
A day is not enough to complete all the extreme adventures offered by EAT Danao. However, if you’re really just bound for a limited stay, the Day Tour Package offers more than enough for you to enjoy.
