QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA— The Quezon City government is looking into the possibility of putting up an online teaching program that would cater to elementary and high school “dropouts”.
According to Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, this e-learning project can also cater to out-of-school youths.
Belmonte directed Division of City Schools officer-in-charge Dr. Corazon Rubio to do a feasibility study on this project that, according to the vice-mayor, would costs less than building new classrooms.
The local government is also looking at partnering with private companies to provide for this e-learning program in the city’s 96 public elementary and 46 public high schools.
Belmonte said that they also plan to explore the use of Internet cafés as part of the local government’s efforts to address the education problem among the city’s youth sector.
