Sorry, it's Section 30 Art VII not Art VIII of RA 7279. Sections 27 & 28 of Art VII discusses the enforcement of demolition for informal settlers. My apologies. Ty

Full enforcement of the law is the sworn duty of any Local Government Official. It's their responsibility. They were elected because people trust & believe in them as protectors of their welfare. How can LGUs protect our welfare if they don't enforce the law? Pedestrians have their rights & privileged but if barangay officials tolerate illegal parking on sidewalks, use of roads as "talyer" & encroachment of sidewalk by illegal structures, then their given rights are not protected & assured but instead taken from them. Ty

Very clear in section 30 art VIII of RA 7279 that a barangay official, city councilor or congressman who tolerates the construction of illegal dwellings or structures in their jurisdiction shall be administratively liable. It's just unfortunate this provision is not being implemented. Why? Politics!!! A city mayor would not dare file charges against a barangay captain (no pun intended). The DILG should positively act on this. They need to discipline LGUs with regards to non-enforcement of the law. Enforcement is mandatory & not discretionary. Ty

i still have to see a LGU get punished or penalized for non-enforcement of the law. gross negligence & tolerating a violation is the biggest sin that can be made by an LGU. the DILG must be strict in enforcing section 60c of the local Government Code of 1991. sabi nga need may sampolan para tumino at sumunod. Discipline a LGU & he/she would discipline his/her constituents. it's a natural chain reaction. higpitan mo ang enforcer, sure kikilos yon ng tama. the DILG should try to consider this. lagay sila task force to monitor LGUs up to the barangay level. if they see gross negligence, the DILG should not hesitate to file charges against LGUs. we have many good laws but we miserably fail in enforcement. why? because of too much politics. everybody is protecting somebody because he is looking at the next election & not next generation. the DILG & DOJ must find a way to cure this. tnx

My father who is 68 years of age is suffering from stroke and confined in St. Magdalene Hospital in San Jose, Occidental MIndoro. His medicine amounting almost 2,000 pesos everyday and these medicines can be bought only from other medical stores outside the hospital meaning we have to use cash to get these medicines.. My mom is a plain housewife and my father is a driver and we are not capable to sustain the daily medicines required by the hospital..As of this date, he is still confined in the hospital.

I am requesting from your good office for a medical assistance..We are seeking for your immediate help.
We will submit all the requirements needed..

Thank you very much and more power..

there must be a law that would penalize LGUs for tolerating the violation of any law. a responsibility-liability law is very important. the DILG & DOJ should make enforcement of the law mandatory & not discretionary, as commonly practiced today by most LGUs, specially at the barangay level. discipline must start from the grassroots level. tnx
