Just strictly enforce the National Building Code or PD 1096 & your problems are over. PICE, UAP, contractor’s associations & barangay officials should help the Office of the Building Official enforce PD 1096 by orienting or informing the general public of its provisions &/or contents & to morally persuade them to fully abide to it. Barangay officials being front-liners can easily play a major role in solving our traffic problem. They could start by clearing our sidewalks & roads with illegally parked vehicles. They need to protect the rights of pedestrians to use & walk on sidewalks freely & without obstruction. Double parking is also a major concern. Second, they can remove illegal PUVs terminals & use of roads as “talyer” or repair shops & car wash. All they need is a strong political will, desire & determination to succeed. Ty

My dad who is 51 years old is suffering from stroke and confine in Quezon memorial hospital in Lucena city last January 15, 2012. His medicines amounting almost 3500 everyday excluding everyday expenses in the hospital. I just want to inquire if it is possible for us to get a medical assistance from your office. Most of the medicines are not available in said hospital and because of that we need to buy those in the other store outside the hospital, that means we have no way than to pay in cash,unfortunately we are not capable to buy those medicines everyday.Our step mom don’t have work and my dad is just a security guard they have 2 daughters who ages 9 or 10 and 6 or 7 and a boy age 2 0r 3 as of now. We cant provide them their needs as his legitimate children and the only way we can help is to approach your office for their financial assistance aside from giving them the amount that we had but in a span of 1 week our savings was totally gone to support them. Please help my dad for his survival..Any requirements that your office need is willing to submit and we, as his legitimate children is the one who will seek for that because of his second family’s situation. Thank you very much and more power to your office.

i have to agree with mayor herbert that we need to develop self-discipline & high moral & spiritual standards among Filipinos. maybe we need to develop more our patriotism or love of country values. if you love your country you would surely abide by all it’s laws without question. hindi ka tapon basura kahit saan, sunod ka sa lahat batas trapiko, etc. just like in “panatang makabayan” iniibig ko ang pilipinas……sa salita, isip, puso at gawa. sana nga po……….ty

I hope the Department of Budget & Management would tap the youth sector in monitoring proper disbursements of funds by LGUs including barangays. They could monitor LGUs disbursements using the Philippine Electronic Government Procurement System. Non-registration & use of Philgeps by LGUs is a violation of RA 9184. The youth sector should check if their barangay has complied with RA 9184. I advise DBM to conduct seminars about Philgeps in different schools in Metro Manila & the provinces. This would promote transparency, accountability, good governance & hopefully stop corruption in government. Not only the youth sector but even the senior citizens should monitor public disbursements. It’s our moral responsibility as Filipinos. Ty

We really need to amend the Local Government Code of 1991. It should include stiffer penalties both criminal & administrative for corrupt LGUs & those who refuse to strictly enforce the law &/or who tolerates the violation of the law. Section 60c or disciplinary measures of the LGC ’91 should be strengthen. As of today many LGUs specially barangays issue permits even if the applicants openly violate the law or don’t comply with its provisions. Issuance of permits has become a fund-raising endeavor & not as a regulatory measure (its primary purpose). Adding this would promote discipline among LGUs which would later transfer to the public.
