QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA—A clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is necessary when you are applying for a job.

Most applicants find it difficult and time-consuming to get an NBI clearance because you have to get in a long queue. Most fresh graduates and job applicants often apply for an NBI clearance on the second quarter of the year.

One way of making it easier for you to get your NBI clearance is to ready the documents before you proceed to get apply for the clearance. Here are a few more tips and guidelines to make your application for the NBI clearance less stressful.

First, never forget to bring at least two valid IDs. The form distributor won’t give you the form if you do not have an ID. Any government issued ID or company ID will do.

To avoid long queues be at the NBI office early. For those who are getting their NBI clearance at the main office in Victory Mall Caloocan City, it would be best to be there around 7a.m. or even earlier if you’re going on a Monday.

Bring a pen with you and read the requirements before going to the place. It is important that you bring a pen to fill the form so you do not need to buy overpriced pens outside the NBI office. Some vendors will even insist that you buy a cedula, which is in fact not required.

Fill the form as fast but as careful as you can. It is important that you finish filling the form with all the information it needs as soon as possible. Check the sample form to avoid mistakes.

After filling the form, proceed to the Data Check Counters. Once you are done with data checking, the next step is to pay for the application. This is actually the most time consuming part of the process. Both local and international application cost P115.

To avoid queues, make sure that you have the exact amount, a P100 bill and three P5 coin so that you can pay via machine counter.

Once you are done with the payment, proceed to the finger printing section. You might want to buy some wet wipes for about P4 to clean your hands. The next step is to have your photo taken via computer.

After this, you have to proceed to a final data counter to check if you have undergone all the procedures. After this, all you have to do is wait for the releasing of your NBI clearance either on the day itself or on a scheduled date.
Finally, make sure that you have your receipt with you because this will serve as your stub upon receiving the NBI clearance.

Our company recently required us to get NBI clearance for the renewal of our business license.
Getting it is really exhausting and unorganized. You have to be at the queue as early as 3 am in the morning just to beat the quota.
NBI should investigate it themselves.
