MAKATI CITY, METRO MANILA— The Philippines’ laws against genocide has won praise from an American envoy.
“I am pleased to see the legislation passed in 2009 that makes it a crime to commit genocide and crimes against humanities here. There haven’t been cases yet under it but it is an excellent model that others can follow,” said Stephen J. Rapp, who is US Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues.
