CALOOCAN CITY, METRO MANILA— Lester Nelson came to the Philippines a few years ago to film a documentary on poverty. He stayed on after having discovered the immense talent of Filipino children living in poor conditions.
Instead, Lester and his colleagues put up the Ferdinand Center for the Creative, a non-profit organization that helps young artists become accomplished graphic designers.
