Korean airline sends aid to earthquake-hit Japan

QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA -  Asiana Airlines has sent 1,500 cabin blankets and other relief goods to the Japan in an effort to aid people affected by the recent  disaster.

In a statement, the airline said Asiana flight OZ156 flew out from Incheon, Korea to Fukushima, Japan to deliver thermal cabin blankets. The Korean airline will also send bottled water and instant cup noodles to Fukushima and Narita.

The head office in Korea will be providing aid to the Japan headquarters and branches located in the disaster area.

Currently, Asiana has suspended flights from Incheon-Sendai and Incheon-Ibaraki due to airports closed in the affected areas. The routes will be opened once operations are restored.

Asiana said it is providing quick information on  affected flight schedules by beefing up call center operations.

Asiana Airlines is headquartered at the Incheon International Airport and flies to 67 cities worldwide. It makes around 10 flights a week to the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark Field, Pampanga.
