LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Filipino journalists based here gave a surprise tribute to Consul General Mary Jo Bernardo-Aragon in celebration of the consul general’s 31 years of service.
Instead of a media ‘roasting,’ members of the media toasted Southern California’s top diplomat for her three decades of diplomatic service.
The diminutive Bernardo-Aragon is tasked to oversee almost a million persons of Filipino descent in some 10 counties in Southern California, in addition to all counties in Texas, New Mexico, and Southern Nevada.
The top diplomat was cited for her numerous outreach programs in her areas of responsibility and her respectable track record as diplomat.
The FilAm Press Club of LA, and several news organizations including Balita, the Philippine Times, FameGate Magazine and Global News were present during the event.
