ALAMINOS CITY, PANGASINAN – Re-electionist Mayor Hernani Braganza of the Liberal Party has garnered 53.93 percent of the total 36,159 votes cast here, or a total of 19,158 votes cast in his favor. He leads over Arthurs Celeste of Lakas-CMD and independent candidate Pedro Pagador.
Celeste has 16,294 votes or 45.86 percent of the total votes while Pagador has 75 votes or 0.21 percent of the total. The results are from partial, official tallies of the Commission on Elections as of May 14, 11:16 a.m.
Alaminos is the City of Hundred Islands where Braganza is the incumbent mayor. He is a former Representative of the 1st District of Pangasinan to the 10th Philippine Congress and former Secretary of Agrarian Reform from February 12, 2001 January 15, 2003. He started his career in politics as a municipal councilor of Alaminos in 1988. Then he became Consultant for Political Affairs under Vice-Governor Ranjit Shahani. Eventually, he won a seat in Congress as Representative of the 1st District of Pangasinan.
Alaminos is a 5th class city in the province of Pangasinan with a population of 79,788 people in 15,527 households. It is bounded by the municipalities of Sual, Bani and Mabini.
