QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA— Amid the ongoing vice-presidential race, supporters of Senator Mar Roxas sent their greetings on his 53rd birthday via Twitter.
Twitter users posted birthday greetings and messages of support for the senator, who is trailing behind former Makati mayor Jejomar Binay, based on partial poll results by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPRCV).
“Brookeiress” posted “Happy Birthday Sen. Mar Roxas! I believe that you are the perfect person for the VP position. Go FIGHT!”. AngelineTandan tweeted “Happy Birthday to my Vice President MarRoxas

ShowbizManila tweeted photos of Roxas and his wife Korina Sanchez during a birthday mass held at their campaign headquarters at the Araneta Center.
In his Twitter account, the senator thanked his supporters and posted: “Thanks again, everyone, for your greetings. They’re very touching. Keep the faith!”. He later tweeted about eating batchoy his family brought as a surprise.
Roxas held a press conference Thursday afternoon, appealing to poll officials not to hasten the canvassing of votes. He congratulated his runningmate Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, who is currently leading in poll results for the presidency.
