MAKATI CITY, METRO MANILA – For many people, a watch is more than a tool or a utility. It is also an expression of one’s self.

Recently, Techno Time Retailers Corp., the exclusive local distributor of the Welder watch brand, launched a  a series of “futuristic” collections of timepieces.

“The function of watches in this country is not so much utilitarian, it’s really more of an accessory, a personal badge, even considered a status symbol,” said Marco Protacio, vice president for operations and marketing of Techno Time Retailers Corp.

The initial collection shows the complexities of a watch designed to take the wearer to the year 2075, which is how designer Italo Fontana envisioned timepieces to look like in the next 60 years.

Not only does the sleek and bold design capture the distant future of timepieces, Welder watches also possess features that fit the active and busy lifestyle of its target market – the younger segment.

“It’s not just about age, its being at the top of your game, its being an achiever, a fashionista and taking a bold step toward the future,” Protacio said.

Each collection has a multi-face design that features three different timezones, ideal for young professionals who frequently go on business travels.

“All of our collections are statement pieces. Details like interchangeable faces, innovative details as well as its bold colors and sturdy straps,” Protacio said, describing the collection as “not threateningly futuristic but retro-future.”

Welder watches start at P40,000. For details, check out http://www.welder.it/
