MAKATI CITY, METRO MANILA— Keeping memorabilia was a hobby Kristine Yao took to heart with a little more color and creativity through scrapbooking. She would often subscribe to scrap book kit clubs abroad and have supplies shipped here.
Eventually, Kristine thought about establishing Studio Azul as her means of sharing the art to others by making the materials affordable and available.
“We source some of the contents of our scrapbook kits abroad, similar to what I usually do before. But this time we add a more Pinoy touch to it by matching it up with local pieces,” she says.
Each set – sold from P300 to P1, 500 – is complete with everything you need to start your very own scrapbook project. This includes patterned papers, tools and embellishments like laces, sinamay fabrics and abaca twines.
Besides having the right materials, Kristine says it is also equally important to experiment and let your creativity do the work.
“Art, especially in something as personal as a scrapbook, is basically anything goes. So don’t be afraid to experiment, let go and be creative with how you think your album should look like.”
