Pinoy techies love to ‘overclock’ their PCs

MANDALUYONG CITY, METRO MANILA — Overclocking a PC is nothing new. The idea is that a computer component, particularly the processor, can be made to run at much faster cycles than usual.

This is done by activating switches on the motherboard that controls the clock speed of the processor. Others use third-party software to push the processor to run beyond the specified minimal limit.
