BAGUIO CITY, BENGUET -  Session Road is where you find a row of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and fast food chains, which makes it an ideal spot for those who want to go on a foodtrip on a visit to the country’s summer capital.

For the health conscious, the newly opened Azotea Greens Restaurant Cafe offers a menu that caters to a variety of tastes.  The restaurant’s serene and cozy ambiance is a plus for those who want some privacy since Session Road can become quite crowded especially at night.

Here are some recommended items in their menu.

Potato Cheese Soup. A thick soup made with mashed potatoes floating in cheesy creamy soup makes for a great appetizer.

Fried Egg with Bacon Squares. This complete dish packs protein, carbohydrates and fiber to start your day.  The bacon is actually made from soya and goes with pesto potato balls and fresh salad dressing.

Smoked Barbeque. Protein-rich soya dressed in rich flavors with a kick of sweet-and-sour savory sauce with pesto potato balls as side dish.

Drumsticks. Chicken-inspired drumsticks made of pure veggies alongside a hefty serving of rice makes for a filling meal for hungry tummies.

Azotea Green Salad. Fresh vegetables and fruit dressed in tofu mango sauce, vinaigrette or Caesar salad makes this a healthy appetizer for salad freaks.

Azotea Greens Restaurant Cafe opened last month but has actually been operating a kiosk in the same building since 2006 so it already has quite a local following.

IJ Carlos, the restaurant’s manager, said they have no plans yet of expanding further outside of Baguio. “We want to introduce the concept first here,” he added.
