QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA –  With today’s fast-paced lifestyle, entrepreneur Johnny Nayusan says people hardly have time to prepare a decent, nutritious meal.

“Everyone is so busy they don’t have the time prepare a decent meal, the least I can offer them is something that’s quick to prepare but still very healthy,” he says.

Johnny is one of the major distributors of  Healthy Rich Vegetable Noodles, developed by his friend and fellow Nueva Vizcaya native Ric Navis.

Instant noodles are probably the most quick and hassle-free meal to prepare but oftentimes, its nutritional content is often the least of consumers’ concerns,” he says.

After “screening” different vegetables, the two came up with noodles made of saluyot (spinach), soybeans, squash, carrot, and malunggay (moringa). Malunggay-enriched noodles has been selling in the market for quite some time now.

“These we believed contain nutrients that make up whatever is lost in people due to too much stress from work, and prevents fatigue or other ailments they might incur from physical and mental stress,” says Johnny.

Instant cup noodles are cheap and and readily available but often contain artificial flavors and preservatives. Johnny says their noodles are fortified with  components derived from the vegetables.

Ric also developed a unique system of making noodles without the need for additives, according to Johnny.

The goal was to make it taste really good especially since not all consumers are fans of vegetables,” he says. Moreover, he markets this particular food product as the next best thing to herbal medicines.

“These products are produced on the belief popularized by Hippocrates himself – that food should be a person’s medicine and medicine should be a person’s food,” he explains.

When Johnny is not in his stall at the AANI Herbal Garden Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City, he often participates in trade fairs wherein he markets Healthy Rich Vegetable Noodles for P25 a cup.  He also sells veggie-based pancit canton noodles

“Just because you’re busy doesn’t give you the right to neglect your health. Carefully choose your food intake and don’t settle for mere convenience,” he advises.
