QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA – The Real Thing Diner has only been operating for a few months but it already has its fair share of regulars.

Located right inside the Il Terrazzo Mall, a commercial building in Tomas Morato, the Real Thing Diner strikes people instantly with its Coca Cola-inspired façade and interiors.

The diner has adopted the red and white colors from the iconic softdrink. These colors dominate the entire restaurant from the furnishings and other details.

However, a centerpiece of the diner is the impressive collection of Coca Cola memorabilia owned by KV Golamco.

KV is the owner of Real Thing Diner and is also a large-scale distributor of Coca-Cola products in the region. KV eventually decided to let customers and collectors buy some of his collections at the diner.

The menu is also unique and stays true of the concept of the diner. The menu contains mostly American cuisine but still fits the tastes of soda-loving Pinoy customers.

To start, there is bottomless Coke for P69, a real steal for Coca Cola lovers.

The favorites at the Real Thing Diner include the Coca-Cola Baby Back Ribs (P399), Sarsi Fish and Chips (P249) and the Tru-Orange Pork Chop (P235). The soda in all three dishes is used to marinate or glazed the meat for that sweetness one would normally get in all sparkling sodas.

For your added guilty pleasure, the diner also has Coke-infused desserts like the Chocolate Cola Decadence and Choc a la Mode.

Aside from the Coke-infused food, Jojo Ayson of Lakwatsero recommends the place for avid collectors of Coke items.

Dining at the Real Thing Diner for Dani Austria of Awesome in Manila was expensive but added that with the huge servings and par service, her money was well spent.

In his blog, Chetonio writes that the food at the Real Thing Diner was more affordable compared to other restaurants.

If you’re in Tomas Morato and looking for a place that offers something different, the Real Thing Diner might be worth visiting.
