QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA— Award-winning actor Joel Torre aims to bring the best in Bacolod cooking with his JT’s Manukan Grille restaurant.
The actor, a Bacolod native, is serving the very famous inasal as the restaurant’s prime offering. JT’s Manukan Grille was officially established in 2003. The restaurant now has four branches for metro diners looking for authentic Bacolod treats.
The restaurant’s interiors serve as a bonus for diners wanting to have a glimpse of the many movies that Torre acted in including “Anak,” and “Jose Rizal”.
I first got introduced to JT’s Manukan Grille four year ago. I was able to try the pecho and I must say the visit was worth it. The chicken is tender and perfectly marinated and is best to eat dipped in a mixture of soy sauce, chili and calamansi or just spicy vinegar.
For me, the chicken is best eaten along with the adobong kangkong for P60. You can also try adding chicken oil to the rice for a complete inasal experience.
The prices are fairly affordable, although most of the JT’s Manukan Grille branches do not have airconditioning similar to the grill houses found in Bacolod. Some of these grill houses are simply side-street dining places.
