CEBU CITY, CEBU – If you’re in Cebu and looking for a nice pizza joint, you might want to try Handuraw’s Pizza in Lahug that diners say serves the best thin-crust and uniquely flavored pizzas in town.
Opened in 1994, Handuraw’s Pizza first opened its doors to residents living along Gorordo Avenue in the main city attracting. The pizza joint soon attracted diners not just because of its menu, but because it is located inside an ancestral home.
“Handuraw” means “the power to imagine,” a message which is translated to the unique pizza selections mostly specialties that have a distinct Cebuano touch to it.
The place offers 12 pizza flavors. The bestsellers include the Pizza Cebuana (P328) which has chorizo de Cebu and kesong puti, Filipino and Anchovey Lovey Pizzas (P338) both having ginamos (anchovies) as toppings and the Handuraw Special (P308) which all the goodness of various meat, dairy and veggie toppings.
Ivan Henares of Ivan About Town tipped that on Sundays, Handuraw Pizza offers a P238 pizza and pica-pica buffet at specific late afternoon and late night hours.
Cebu restaurants just cannot do away without music reverberating in its walls. Apart from its delectable pizzas, patrons come over to hear local musicians and bands play compositions.
The one thing that sets Handuraw Pizza apart from more popular pizza chains is how its quality is comparable to the pizzas offered by the latter but has authentic goodness that doesn’t rely on toppings alone.
