LUCBAN, QUEZON— Old Center Panciteria remains a favorite place to get your fill of authentic pancit habhab that Lucban is known for.
Old Center Panciteria started operations in 1937, earning a reputation as place for diners wanting to try authentic Lucban dishes. The restaurant is often compared to Buddy’s, which is also famous for its pancit and other Lucban delicacies.
Old Center Panciteria prides itself in its miki recipe that has remained unchanged. The original recipe is from the restaurant’s owner, Candelaria Araña.
During her younger days, Araña always made sure that every pancit served on the table is freshly made. In fact, she makes her own miki or wheat noodles with egg. Other noodles may look yellowish but the noodles at Center Miki Factory are reddish brown.
Diners are assured Araña’s way of preparing the specialty remains unchanged.
Old Center Panciteria is also known to serve pancit habhab on a banana leaf, ready for the diner on the go.
Customers can also take home the restaurant’s famous miki which are sold per pack. Next time you’re in Lucban, you might want to visit Old Center Panciteria for that authentic pancit habhab.
