PARAÑAQUE, METRO MANILA – In almost every corner of the city, one can find a restaurant serving grilled food.

For Francis and Mayette Villaluz, there has to be another way of serving inasal to customers to make the dining experience more enjoyable and unique. With this goal in mind, the couple established 80’s INASAL six months ago.

Once inside the restaurant, you will immediately notice the 80s memorabilia on the wall, including Duran Duran posters, Archie Comics, and other collections that often grab the attention of curious diners.

Mayette says some of the 80s memorabilia are Francis’ personal collections. The 80s ambiance is further “enhanced” by 80s music such as new wave, punk rock, dance, and others, being played.

If you’re an avid follower of disc jockeys like Cool Carla or George Frederick or if you’re an avid listener of radio station WXB 102, then 80’s INASAL might just be your new favorite hangout place.

Mayette says 80’s INASAL serves inasal meals that are different. The restaurant offers “hubad na inasal,” a special chicken dish that uses vinegar as marinade instead of soy sauce and sugar.

Mayette says the special marinade gives the inasal that “sunshine gold appearance” and that extra tangy punch which is almost missing in other inasal versions. The meat is also not pre-cooked which means it is grilled fresh when ordered.

The best part about eating in this fun restaurant is the affordability of the food. With just a budget of P100, you are assured of a full inasal meal that you can pair up with a bottle of beer.

The affordable yet relaxing dining experience Mayette shares, is what makes 80’s INASAL a favorite among couples going for late lunch or late dinner.

The next time you feel like going back to those carefree days, try driving down south for a dining experience that will surely remind you of the1980s.
