Chevonss is not your ordinary ‘kambingan’ restaurant

QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA–This restaurant in Scout Borromeo breaks the stereotype kambingan because it not only serves a wide variety of delectable pulutan, but also turkey dishes for diners.

Chevonss is located along the busy South Triangle in Quezon City. Unlike the numerous restaurants around it, Chevonns is an “old house” transformed into a restaurant.

Chevonss owner Cynthia Lorenzo established the restaurant in 2009, with a few tables and chairs set up at the garage.

The place is now a favorite among customers and groups wanting a quiet place to dine and drink. There are more chairs and tables and a special function room which has a videoke machine inside.

Chevonss is also known for its turkey dishes. Here, you can eat flavorful turkey sisig for only P135-P260 or their veggie-delight pancit bihon from P98 to P195.

Another favorite is the sizzling ox stripe for P78 to P155 and the goat papaitan for P105.

According to Michelle Nebran, an employee at the Chevonss, the restaurant’s goat dishes are the bestsellers. These include adobong kambing for P120, caldereta for P225 and their unique goat patatim for P480 which is good five persons.

The restaurant also offers beer for as low as P25 per bottle or P150 per bucket, relatively cheap compared to the usual rate of P180 to P220 per bucket in other restaurants nearby.

“Although we know there are many ‘kambingan‘ places around, we know that our customers come back to us because our dishes have a lingering savory taste which they cannot find elsewhere,” Michelle says.

She says that the restaurant also caters to families who go in the morning with kids. “We are open from 11am to 2am but we are still open if the customers are still here.”

Groups can also avail of the private room for videoke and functions where everything is consumable for P3000 per hour.
