TIAONG, QUEZON – Among their vast range of coconut products, this enterprise from Tiaong town seeks to promote its distinct coco vodka to both the local and global markets.

Considered as the main source of income for farmers in coconut plantations across the province, coco vodka more locally known as lambanog, is only one of the products organically produced by Pasciolco Agri Ventures.

Aida Roque, in charge of city operations of Pasciolco Agri Ventures, says coco vodka, apart from having higher alcohol content, is also produced organically.

“Its important for consumers to know that not all naturally processed drinks are organic. Some have preservatives and are mixed with liquor which lessens healthy properties,” Aida says.

Organic coco vodka, Aida says, is rich in enzymes and Vitamin K which aids in proper blood circulation. It is also a good antioxidant and is proven to improve one’s digestion.

“This is more ideal than other commercial and imported liquor because it is attuned to the tastes of the Filipino,” she adds.

“In our town, the demand for coco vodka is so high, that it is sold in tingi-tingi in convenience stores there. It’s so much a part of our tradition and we want to share that to Filipinos in other places, or countries.”

Pasciolco Agri Ventures sells its coco vodka from just 120 to 160 pesos and can go lower depending on the demand which the company expects to increase come Christmas.

Aida says Filipino consumers should practice going back to the grassroots of Filipino celebrations.

“Gatherings should symbolize not only our love for our families but our love for our own products,” Aida says, adding that serving coco vodka over imported wines during Noche Buena would be delightful change.

Other coconut products of Pasciolco Agri Ventures include natural fermented coconut vinegar, coconut jam, virgin coconut oil, aromatherapy oils, and coconut sugar.

The products are currently being sold at the Grandest Global Exporters and Importers Advance Christmas Bazaar at the World Trade Center until November 21.
