BACOOR, CAVITE – The local government of Bacoor has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Filquest Media Concepts Inc. to create a web portal highlighting people, places, business, and services in this municipality.

The MOA is part of plans of Mayor Edwin “Strike” Revilla to make the services of the municipality fully automated by 2012.

Bacoor, the largest municipality in the Philippines, is also poised to become a full-fledged city.

According to Mayor Revilla, the web portal will be an “effective tool” which the people of Bacoor and government leaders can use to achieve the municipality’s goals.

Mayor Revilla, who is also National President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, said that once in full swing, the web portal will also be focusing on small-scale enterprises.

“We’re widening our market even to small investors because we really want to make the local government’s services and support to be more accessible especially to small scale businessmen,” he said.

The mayor added that aside from aiding small entrepreneurs, the online portal will also allow the government to deliver services to its constituency faster and easier.

Mayor Revilla and Filquest Media Concepts Inc. president Diether Ocampo signed the MOA on December 16.

Filquest Media Concepts Inc. in October launched the Go Quezon City online portal with the city government.

“Were having some serious discussions with government officials in the south area for an establishment of their own web portals so that more Filipinos can show the products they are proud of,” Ocampo said.
