MAKATI CITY, METRO MANILA - Having a professional-looking website is considered a must-have for any business these days, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), since it serves as both a marketing tool and virtual office.
“By having a website, any business can now be on equal footing with big competitors, simply by being present on the Internet,” says Emmanuel Aligada, head of the business corporate and SME segments for Globe Business.
Globe Business, the corporate arm of telecommunications firm Globe Telecom, has launched the Biz Online Package, a suite of services that aims to enable SMEs to create and maintain professional-looking websites to help gain more customers and expand their reach.
Essentially, this product is designed to help small entreprenuers make their presence felt on the Internet. “This package will certainly give SMEs a chance to market and educate consumers about their products and services,” says Globe Business head Gil Genio.
Aligada, meanwhile, noted that a website is a necessity especially for small-scale ventures as it serves as a marketing tool, virtual office and locator for customers, which in turn help increase sales.
The Biz Online Package gives users their own .ph domain name for their website that will make it easy for customers to find on the Web. It also includes a “Sitebuilder” tool that will guide users in building and managing their own websites, but “built with both beginner and ‘techie’ in mind”, according to Globe.
By creating their own websites, the goal is allow SMEs to save resources instead of getting a developer to change or add content on the site.
The Biz Online Package also provides email hosting, which includes five free email accounts with 100 MB storage space each, and web hosting services which includes 500 MB free space.
The Biz Online Package costs 750 pesos per month. It may also come bundled with Globe Broadband connectivity plans ranging from 995 to 2,295 pesos, excluding the monthly fee for the Biz Online Package.
