QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA – Ten year-old Maria Lourdes Aragon may just follow the footsteps of Charice Pempengco.
The Filipino-Canadian is fast becoming a Youtube sensation after posting a video of her playing a piano a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”.
The video has gained more than 900,000 views in less than two days.
According to Yahoo! OMG, Lady Gaga herself took notice and tweeted: “Can’t stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future.”
TV host Ellen Degeneres also tweeted about the video, leading to a #GetMariaOnEllen on Twitter.
Degeneres was also instrumental in launching the career of Pempengco after the latter guested on her show. The Laguna native has since became famous appearing on the hit TV show Glee and working with acclaimed producer David Foster.
In an interview on Yahoo! OMG!, Aragon said her family was surprised that Lady Gaga herself tweeted her video.

The video also got praises from other celebrities like Hayley Williams of the Paramore, actor Jay Brannan, local television host Bianca Gonzales.
