BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA— Philippines’ finest and sole superstar Nora Aunor is coming home to the country with yet another achievement as one of Asia’s best actresses of the decade.

Nora Aunor, along with other veteran actresses in Asia, will be awarded today (March 23) in the 2010 Green Planet Movies in Hollywood. The awardees were chosen by movie viewers and online voters from 100 countries. Aunor was the only Filipina who was able to enter the competition.

Aside from this award, her movie, Himala, also became one of the ten Best Asian Films of All Time and the winner of CNN APSA Viewers Choice Award for Best Asia-Pacific Film of All Time. Truly, she has proven her name both locally and internationally.

Her reported comeback and latest achievements rekindled the spirits of Noranian fans who have been missing the actress since she left the country several years ago.

Aunor is also expected to surprise her fans after having a recent aesthetic enhancement procedure under Shinagawa Lasik and Aesthetic Center which formally tapped her as celebrity endorser. According to reports, she underwent  facelift, neck lift, dermal fillering and eyebag removal in Japan.

Even though today’s generation grew up with the likes of Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barreto, Nora Aunor’s fame never seems to fade. And with the help of technology, the youth are still able to watch her movies like the true to life story of Flor Contemplation.

Local fans are already preparing activities to honor the superstar when she comes back in April. In Quezon City, Himala will be screened for Noranians to also help people reflect more during the Lenten season.
