Filquest Media Concepts, Inc. is a company that delivers interactive multimedia solutions for various end-user and business applications, and loQal is one of its web properties.
At loQal, our goal is to give voice to the voiceless — often the subjects who are not covered by traditional media because of their mad rush for scoops, subjects, topics, personalities and issues that sell publications, advertising space or airtime. By “voiceless” we also mean people who have something to say, write or show but are not given the opportunity by traditional media. We also mean small businesses whose gallant efforts to uplift the economy and build a stronger middle class are not publicized because media are too busy covering the bigwigs.
The chances of these small people, places, stories and businesses of getting aired on TV or published in newspapers are as big Frodo’s chances of making it to the NBA. Not so at loQal.
At loQal, the small CAN indeed become big. The voiceless CAN be given the chance to grab the mic. The meek CAN inherit the Earth. We believe in helping build the nation by celebrating the small who — in their own humble yet multitudinous ways — can contribute to society in a bigger way percentage-wise.
In the age of narcissism on the Internet where the “Me Generation” focuses on the self instead of the subject matter, loQal’s reporters choose to celebrate the people who deserve to be covered instead of glorifying media and breeding a generation of self-obsessed and skin-deep media “personalities” who have nothing to say and merely want to display themselves.
We look at the things that make a town or a city unique in its own way — its colors, its flavors, its people. Because at loQal, we believe that every town is someone’s hometown.
You yourself can kick start this revolution by sharing your story or by registering your small- or medium-sized business in our directory.
